Ashleigh Ball Debuts Solo Project by

It seems that the MLP community has two milestones to celebrate today. Yesterday, Ashleigh Ball posted on Twitter about a new solo track being posted today. It dropped this morning, along with more information about the venture. More after the jump.

Today, Ball officially announced her solo music career. Her first release, an EP titled "Gold in You", will be out June 2nd. The first music video, "Crazy", was released today along with an interview with Exclaim about the project.

The song is a notable change in pace for the artist. Hey Ocean was know for their "indie-rock" sound but this new track has a Electronica/R&B feel to it.

"The new songs hear the singer tackling themes like "asynchronous relationships" and navigating "the paradox of wanting two different lives at once" — toying with the juxtaposition of chaos and stability, dreams and reality." - Exclaim
The full album is set to drop next month. Maybe then Final Draft will finally be able to get that interview with her.

  1. Good song, but her Applejack voice (which is kind of an extension of her regular voice) definitely comes out in parts of the some, so it sounds like Applejack is singing "All that stupid shit you put me through-hoo-hoo."
