  6. Well, this was a complete waste of an episode, and further proof that DHX stopped caring about the series ages ago and only see it as a paycheck.

Starlight is a fucking psychopath, her supposed "redemption" is nowhere to be seen, this season didn't even bother to focus on it, but we are expected to care a lot about Starlight and accept her as a super heroine who will save the day during the season finale, etc?

Eh, no. No, that's not going to happen.

If DHX didn't cared about her, they have no right to expect others to care for them.

    1. You mean just like every other pony keeps never actually learning anything and repeating the same mistakes again and again since season 1, and this without facing any consequence (worst offender of all being Pinkie)? What show have you been watching, anon?

It's much more interesting to see a character actually struggle to come to terms with the friendship thing than it is to see all these characters perpetually re-experience the same flaw in the same ways.

And she's kind of a mirror for Twilight. Who's been doing some pretty fucked up magic herself, disregarding consequences. In fact, a lot of pony episodes have been about main characters disregarding consequences, whether Twilight creating problems so she could solve them, Rainbow Dash getting too competitive and almost getting her friends killed, Rarity treating her friends as slave labour (and she never even came close to redeeming herself).

Again, what show have you been watching, Anon?

    3. (This is to the second anon)

That just goes to show the problem with the show, it's too forgiving. Pinkie never learns anything along with the other ponies, and Rarity treating her friends like slave labor? I think you're looking too deep into what's supposed to be a children's show.

The problem with Starlight is that they're not doing her whole "struggling to come to terms with friendship" thing correctly, part of the problem is that make her too overpowered.

    4. (This is replying to the first anon)

I know, right? DHX created one of the worst characters and wastes of time I've ever seen on any TV show, and season 6 has been shit and MLP: FiM at its absolute worst...if they kicked Starlight off of the show, maybe that would be one way to make the show better (the show still has problems).

And yeah, what sucks is they probably just get a fucking HUGE amount of money for their half-assed jobs...

  7. 1. How is she a psychipath?
    2. How is her redemption nowhere? I thought all her efforts this seaon were part of it.

    3. Did you not consider the possibility that they are taking time with it to make it seem realistic? And if she was redeemed completely in one shot, it would seem unrealistic and you'd complain about it then? I know I would.

    4. How does this episode prove a lack of care from DHX? (Also, I think they do the animation, not the writing).

    1. For 1: She hypnotized Twilgiht's friends against their will, and learned little to nothing from this.

For 3: If they wanted to make this realistic, they should have moved this episode earlier in the season and added more episodes showing her rehabilitation or moved the concept for this season's finale to a possible Season 7, adding more time to develop her character.

    2. #2 Her redemption went nowhere because her hypnotizing Twilight's friends against their will and getting off scott free (AGAIN) threw her weak redemption from season 5 out the window and it makes Starlight look like a jerk who doesn't care for anyone but herself.

#4 I think DHX may also approve the writing or something, but I could be wrong on that.

    Daily Jim Miller fuckup.

  10. What sucks hard is that these dumbass writers probably earn a HUGE paycheck for their shitty job on this now terrible TV show.

If this episode was supposed to demonstrate a bonding/strengthening of the friendships between Starlight and the Mane Six, it failed big time...even Bleach's Soul Society arc did a better job than this...

  11. And one more thing about "Glim Glam". That's a fucking stupid name.
