My Little Pony Christmas Carol Album to be Released. by

We at Horse-News hope you're already getting ready for the Christmas Spirit, even though at the time of this article Halloween is only a few days away. iTunes is getting ready to release a Christmas themed My Little Pony album on 06. November 2015, called "It's a Pony Kind of Christmas," featuring most of the mane six cast and a few others singing Christmas Carols.

From what we have found on the iTunes link for this album, most of the songs are your run-of-the-mill Christmas Carols you'd expect to hear, but with a little twist as they are sung by most of the cast. Though we're not certain why they would list character names for some, and actual singing voice names for the others. And just who exactly is Pop Fly?

Songs from A Pony Kind of Christmas include:
  • “It’s a Pony Kind of Christmas” :: Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy & Phoenix Chamber Choir
  • “Jingle Bells” :: Rainbow Dash
  • “Deck the Halls” :: Rarity, Phoenix Chamber Choir
  • “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” :: Twilight Sparkle & Phoenix Chamber Choir
  • “Silent Night” :: Fluttershy & Phoenix Chamber Choir
  • “Twelve Days of Christmas” :: Pinkie Pie
  • “Last Year I Got Coal for Christmas” :: Pop Fly
  • “Jolly ol’ St. Nick” :: Spike)
  • “Days Gone By - Auld Lang Syne” :: Applejack, Applebloom, Granny Smith
  • “The Heart Carol” :: Phoenix Chamber Choir

While at present time, the iTunes link still doesn't have previews for the songs, we did notice something quite odd about the album cover picture.

Is now the time to panic? Or to run amok with rampant speculation as to why Twilight has no wings for some reason? That comes later.

  4. Was pissed that there was no Rarity song for a second. Realised that shes credited as Kazumi Evans, despite the rest of the cast being given their characters names.

  5. Why Twilight has no wings? How about why are they all singing about Christmas when it's clear at this point that Hearth's Warming Eve is the equivalent in their universe?

Honestly, expecting show accuracy from a holiday tie-in intending to capitalize on the fandom's love of hearing the ponies sing is a bit silly, especially when I'm pretty sure that image was created using existing assets (that Twilight is from the season 2 poster, I believe).

Those wings aren't going anywhere. People need to just stop accept that.

  8. Ponies already have their own holidays, which are close enough to ours where it matters. While I've heard Christmas songs enough before, I'm sure this album would be great fun for its intended audience.

    1. So it'd be 60 minutes of heaving breathing, clopping noises with monotonous sleigh bells in the background?
