As I'm sure you are all aware, Bronies are not very well liked in mainstream culture. But that begs the question, why does nobody like us? Is it because we have rudely barged into a "safe space" that was meant for children, or does it go even further than that? I propose a new idea, mainstream culture hates us...because they are frightened by what we represent.
Bronies, as a whole, represents a new underground movement, a revolution that will change the paradigm of how we interpret gender roles. By simply existing and enjoying something that is not meant for us, we defy the gender norm, we are opposing the status quo, "the man" so to speak.
We are the next iteration of the New Sincerity Movement, a movement that started in the 1980's and is summed up by Jesse Thorn of the Sound Of Young America as whatever allows us to have, "Maximum Fun" and allows us to, "Be More Awesome". It is the absence of hipster bullshit, of only liking things that are shitty or weird not because it is ironic, but because deep down in our core we truly find something that is fun. And isn't that what the Brony fandom is all about at it's core, to have a good time?
Truly Bronies are the new enlightened elite, those few in society who have pushed past the veil of the modern corporate world and have returned to their roots to simply have fun. And this frightens the mainstream, they simply cannot understand how you can enjoy something that is not meant for you, how DARE you defy the norm? How dare you like something that is not tailored for you, HOW DARE you break out of the mold! And this, fillies and gentlecolts, is the crux of the argument, this is why we are hated so much.
Or maybe it's because we're a bunch of weeaboo autistic faggots that suck horse cocks for fun. Actually yeah I think that's the reason, fuck you guys. Now move aside faggots, I'm next. Video is in the link.
