Red Light Ponyville in Paypal trouble, admin used fake id (UPDATES) by

Apparently, Paypal isn't "Love and Tolerant" enough to turn a blind eye to fake information

Drama after the break!

For those not in the know, Red Light Ponyville is the largest adult mlp forum in the fandom, and ranges from different and equally erotic topics. They have a massive array of topics and groups like art and fanfiction critiques, roleplay, to even people looking to hook up irl at cons.

This came to our attention from a writer at Pickle Barrel Kumquat, who gave us this screencap (and swears up and down he never been on the site in his life)

There you have it, fake identification is the downfall of Red Light Ponyville and not some 14 year old edgetard with an LOIC on his mother's computer. Is this the end of RLP? Will someone step up to the plate and save the community of cloppers and clop enthusiasts? only time will tell.

UPDATE:

Derpy from RLPV has sent us this message regarding the incident.

"I have a PayPal account that's verified and is a merchant PayPal account, this is used by myself and my family, in the start I paid for rlpv with my PayPal, as it was slow and only cost me a few bucks a month, so it was no big deal, then as the site grew bigger people wanted to donate, and we had more costs. I couldn't have it tied to my main account for several reasons.
1. i'd have to explain to my family members that use my PayPal pretty much daily where these "massive" amounts of money were coming from, which I couldn't do. I wasn't going to tell my family that I run a forum that focuses on Rainbow colored horses porn.
2. my name is tied to that PayPal together with my main email, the last thing that I want is to get doxxed and have my personal life made a living hell because of a service I offer to a community, which has been proven by actions in the past, is a real threat for me. I can simply not afford to have my real identity tied to RLPV, people that I trust do know my real name.

I looked into alternatives and saw that you can make a canadian PayPal account, not verify it, and it will have no limits unlike other PayPal accounts. This seemed like the best option as I wouldn't have to worry about stupid PayPal limitations, nor would I have to worry about people trying to get my info, as I used a fake identity generator. That's the reasons why I used a fake identity, not because I wanted to take the money and run, simply because I value my privacy, and like I said, as has been shown in the past, people do want to get my real identity for bad reasons, and i'd like that to not happen.
[4:20:33 PM] Derpy hooves: on that note, we do now have a fully verified paypal with no limits that is provided by one of our staff members, that only I have full control over (along with the email it's registered with), and RLPV is here to stay."

  1. And they couldn't set up an LLC because...?

Seriously, set up a shell company of which you are the sole owner. Set up a paypal account for the company. Your family never see anything going through the companies paypal, and the wheels keeps turning... How is this difficult?

    1. Hmm...

When setting up and registering the company, what would one say its trade/purpose is for official paperwork?

Also, that presents a new problem: an ambiguous company with little to no activity. Could that get examined by the Feds/ they find out you're a pony porn trader? Would that be worse than paypal knowing?

How was this guy even rumbled?

    2. Also can't the fucker just use bitcoin, or ask for cash donations to be sent via post to a PO BOX (which can be ID'd to him unlike bitcoin and less secure but hey sometimes old methods are best because it might be less risky in some cases) Or use an offshore account? Or some sort of vanilla prepaid card account with no name, if that exists? There is plenty of info available for him, if you just gogle, so I don't see why he doesn't just take up one of those options

    3. A shell company for a few hundred bucks a month? Are you retarted OP? Also the Bitcoin idea is also dumb seeing as to how volatile the system is at any time Bitcoin will crash like in Japan, people lost all their money, the only good solution is the PO Box idea, thats how a racist site I know of does it.

  4. It's the site where Jin (the guy who "married Twilight") was made an admin for quite a while and who only recently got perma-banned after a very long time, despite constantly causing trouble. Can't expect anything else but total retardation from people who are buddies with that guy.

    1. Actually, the entire staff hated his guts for his penchant of causing trouble over the smallest things

  5. You know, without an account you can't view the forum (I know, I just tried). So whoever got that image has to have an account there.

    2. I'm 22 actually, and my family shares my paypal as it's tied to my father's visa, that simple really.

    3. 22 is old enough to be a big boy and get your own debit or credit card. Then you can just put in your real info for a new paypal account. Like... you do have a job outside of this, right? If not now you were going to need your own card soon anyways.
