Red Light Ponyville in Paypal trouble, admin used fake id (UPDATES) by Chelis
Apparently, Paypal isn't "Love and Tolerant" enough to turn a blind eye to fake information
Drama after the break!
For those not in the know, Red Light Ponyville is the largest adult mlp forum in the fandom, and ranges from different and equally erotic topics. They have a massive array of topics and groups like art and fanfiction critiques, roleplay, to even people looking to hook up irl at cons.
This came to our attention from a writer at Pickle Barrel Kumquat, who gave us this screencap (and swears up and down he never been on the site in his life)
There you have it, fake identification is the downfall of Red Light Ponyville and not some 14 year old edgetard with an LOIC on his mother's computer. Is this the end of RLP? Will someone step up to the plate and save the community of cloppers and clop enthusiasts? only time will tell.
Derpy from RLPV has sent us this message regarding the incident.
"I have a PayPal account that's verified and is a merchant PayPal account, this is used by myself and my family, in the start I paid for rlpv with my PayPal, as it was slow and only cost me a few bucks a month, so it was no big deal, then as the site grew bigger people wanted to donate, and we had more costs. I couldn't have it tied to my main account for several reasons.
1. i'd have to explain to my family members that use my PayPal pretty much daily where these "massive" amounts of money were coming from, which I couldn't do. I wasn't going to tell my family that I run a forum that focuses on Rainbow colored horses porn.
2. my name is tied to that PayPal together with my main email, the last thing that I want is to get doxxed and have my personal life made a living hell because of a service I offer to a community, which has been proven by actions in the past, is a real threat for me. I can simply not afford to have my real identity tied to RLPV, people that I trust do know my real name.
I looked into alternatives and saw that you can make a canadian PayPal account, not verify it, and it will have no limits unlike other PayPal accounts. This seemed like the best option as I wouldn't have to worry about stupid PayPal limitations, nor would I have to worry about people trying to get my info, as I used a fake identity generator. That's the reasons why I used a fake identity, not because I wanted to take the money and run, simply because I value my privacy, and like I said, as has been shown in the past, people do want to get my real identity for bad reasons, and i'd like that to not happen.
[4:20:33 PM] Derpy hooves: on that note, we do now have a fully verified paypal with no limits that is provided by one of our staff members, that only I have full control over (along with the email it's registered with), and RLPV is here to stay."
