Amy Keating Rogers says Goodbye to My Little Pony by

Say Adios to Amy everybody.
This morning, Amy Keating Rogers - one of the longest-running members of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic staff - announced she will be no longer writing episodes for the show, as she moves on to greener pastures as a full-time asset for Disney.

She assures fans that this shift will not prevent her from attending conventions in the future.

The news has of course been met with much sadness as well as doomsaying, especially on /mlp/.

Amy's last 4 episodes will air this season.

  1. Sad to see her go, but it's really exciting that she's moving on to Disney. Hopefully we get to see something from her soon.

  2. If her replacement is anyone other than Ted Anderson then I will avoid aneurysm.

  3. Yeah... not a good thing for the show. AKR was one of the good guys. I'm not going to say that the show will be shit without her, but I do think that it's a slim possibility that whoever replaces her will be as good as she was.

  4. For those that want to know which episodes she's written, here's the list:

The Ticket Master, Applebuck Season, Bridle Gossip, Fall Weather Friends, A Dog and Pony Show, The Best Night Ever, The Cutie Pox, The Last Roundup, A Friend in Deed, MMMystery on the Friendship Express, Pinkie Pride, Filli Vanilli, Testing Testing 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the upcoming Season 5 episodes including one called The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone.

She's also written the Rainbow Rocks shorts: Guitar Centered, Player Piano, Shake Your Tail, Perfect Day for Fun and the Journal of the Two Sisters book.

She will be missed... well, it's not like she's dead or anything, just not working on the pony. Good luck Amy and remember to smile smile smile!

  5. Meanwhile, Ted Anderson stares from the bushes, rubbing his hands (and certain lower extremities) in anticipation...

  6. Talk about a step down...

  7. Maybe she'll be able to spend more time writing songs which should not be mentioned.

  8. The Best Night Ever Is The Best Episode Ever Of Season 1 Of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic And It's Thanks To Lauren Faust. She's also co-write The Ticket Master With Amy. And former story editor Rob Rentinsi is now the executive producer of reboot Disney's DuckTales in Fall 2017 on Disney XD.

    2. Explain why Larson sucks in your own words and without mentioning MMC.

    3. Shame on you, anon. Look at the random capitalisation and the directionless ranting that they've been doing for weeks. Anon 2 is clearly mentally handicapped and is not capable of engaging in actual discussion or proper critical thought, and you know it. Using logic right to his face like that is just cruel.

Autism is not a joke. It's a serious, debilitating mental condition.

    4. Because M. A. Larson and Meghan McCarthy had No Chance In Hell like the chairman of the WWE Vince McMahon said so.

    1. Do you seriously think that's what is happening here? Amy writes children's programming for a living. If you were in her shoes and had to choose between working for a small animation company with two shows or a huge company that has hundreds of projects, even if it is the rat, where would you work?

Amy has a special needs child. She needs long term stability. Did she leverage MLP's popularity to make the jump? Yea, probably. Don't fault her though. It's not like you wouldn't do the same thing.

    2. They are (were) also freelance writers, not on Hasbro's staff. When not hired full-time, I understand writers can work on 3-4 shows at a time.
