Leak Week Day 2: Rage on the page - potential Season 5 dates? by

Here Seth take this too.

So yesterday screencaps from Equestria Girls 2: The Search for more money were posted to /mlp/. We got ahold of them, and then EQD and then everyone else. This has pissed a lot of people about 4 people off, and we don't really care. The leak did however provide us with a potential date for season 5. Also lols.

When we say the leak pissed people off, this is a good example. This guy called "Murrison" flipped out on Ishi Rudell. Like, hard core.

"About six months" in reference to Season 5, puts either the start or the end around March or April of 2015. This could mean we either have only a few weeks to wait for Season 5, or 6 months to wait.
A few weeks doesn't seem likely.

Or, it could be a completely arbitrary date to mess with us.

Sethisto apologized on behalf of the entire fandom, something that he really doesn't have the power to do.

DustyKat got passive aggressive about the leaked images..for...some reason...

Might have something to do with the "embargo" on the movie, whatever that means. But the real newsbite there is that the leaker may have been caught.

One fan decided to compare the early version of one of the songs on Equestria Girls, with the final version. They think the first version was better. Do you agree?

Pixelkitties created an exploitable shipping cutout for the week. Just in time too.

  1. Regardless of my personal opinions on EQG, Ishi played that well. Don't know why Dusty got upset about it but whatever. Who is Jose Castillo?

    1. Jose (aka Kryptonlogic) started out late in the fandom as a decent guy that already had an ass ton of followers from the Disney and Apple fandom. (Would you call that last one a fandom?) He thought his media experience and Twitter fame was enough to automatically get him on EQD staff, but alas it was not, especially considering that they weren't even hiring at the time. So he joined EFN in order to get more of dat #horsefame and kissed FD's ass.

Then when he went to Babscon this year he met Final Draft in person he both realized what a cunt FD is and also that he had probably sucked up all the followers from EFN that he could onto his own Twitter page. That's about the time he quit EFN and joined Bronycon staff as their social media guru, where he acquired most of the #horsefamous contacts he has today.

Not even a week ago we can only presume that Jose had absorbed enough bronies onto his own account and said that he would not be participating in the fandom any longer. Weirdly enough, when asked if he would still be on Bronycon staff he gave a clear yes. Guess he hasn't kissed the asses of enough voice actors and other popular accounts yet. And now we find him judging something he claimed not to care about. Chances are he's going to see EQG this weekend and write a review on it. So much for quitting the fandom!

      ... I lurk too much.

  2. The amount of kissing ass in this fandom would be impressive if it wasn't so fucking stupid. Show writers aren't gods, and being "friends" with them (aka sucking up and only giving them compliments while they don't care about you) isn't really going to get people anywhere but eventual disappointment.

    1. You're absolutely right. I thought this especially with a lot of TGWTG people, and former Blistered Thumbs people, and other youtube personalities. I've felt a lot of disappointment when I challenged them in regard to the Gamergate thing. It felt like I was beneath the youtube personalities.

    2. Haha, of course Equestria Daily was going to try to use this chance to kiss some ass and to keep trying to place itself as the official voice of the fandom.

Each and every fag involved here is just that: a fag.

  6. The funny thing is that faggots like Murrison will probably still hate Rainbow Rocks even if it were the most amazing thing ever, just because they hated the first movie so much and will never, ever let it go. Flash Sentry was a small and boring part of EG1, therefore his mere presence or mentioned existence in season five means it will all suck. Seriously, guys? Bad movies and bad TV shows aren't worth getting angry over. Anybody actually getting themselves mad over the mere thought of Flashlight shipping needs to take a sedative.

    1. this guy gets it. hey, i don't like flash sentry either, but he's not the bane of my existence. he's a childrens cartoon character. he just happened to be written in bad, ok? we have other more important things in the world to worry about? seriously, go help the homeless, volunteer at a hospital, pet your dog, do anything! because whining about a childrens cartoon gets you nowhere in life.

    2. EQG will always ALWAYS be beneath pony. Especially the earlier seasons. Meghan is a corporate whore and we all have to deal with the fallout. Some are okay with the direction, others aren't. Either way, it's not worth getting worked up over when the other side voices their subjective opinion.
Good and bad? Subjective. Success and failure? Objective. And to Hasbro, EQG is successful. So there's more of that on the way, enjoy pony getting pushed back more and more.

    3. Meghan is a television writer doing her job. I highly doubt she cares whether or not bronies like her scripts

    4. "The funny thing is that faggots like Murrison will probably still hate Rainbow Rocks even if it were the most amazing thing ever"

Hmm, but from what we have seen from the teasers and leaked pics, RR doesn't seem to be the most amazing thing ever.
Which is a valid reason to feel rustled, but with moderation.

    6. If you go look through Murrison's Tweet history, the two things he's most furious about are Flash Sentry (he's one of those people who thinks Flash's two-second silent cameo in Three's a Crowd RUINED MUH PONIES FOREVER) and the comic where Celestia had a thing going on with Alternate Sombra.

In other words, he's just a crying waifufag who is mad because canon pones have boyfriends who aren't his OC's.

  8. @Anon3 "EQG will always ALWAYS be beneath pony..."

I had some friends who used to work for Wizards of the Coast, which is owned by Hasbro. I remember a conversation we had at the end of Season 2. "There's no way Hasbro could mess this up! MLP is their gravy train!"

And my friends said, "Weeeelll, don't be so sure about that. The thing about Hasbro is that you don't even need to make anything up—it'll probably come true anyway."

Hasbro totally not understand their brand and do a 180 in an awful direction? It's possible.
Hasbro cancel the show for no reason at all? Sure, why not.
Hasbro keep doing MLP:FIM and try to run another MLP brand simultaneously? Sure, that's possible too.
    Make a MLP:FIM movie? Sure.
NOT make a MLP:FIM movie? Yup, that too.

So, really, there's no real assurance that Hasbro ever fully knows what they're doing. Or even that fans will agree with their decisions. Expect anything at all, I suppose, be it good or bad.

  9. While Seth has no right to speak for the fandom, he's got more right than Murrison, who really seems to believe that every brony in the universe agrees with him and he is their destined spokesman.

I'm really tired of the fan attitude that the MLP writers owe us anything. Pony is for the children. We are part of this ride, and that's awesome. But we are not the main audience, nor should we ever be. We should be thankful that the show's writers acknowledge us at all.

Nope, but he's still doing it and has no intention to stop because it gives him lots of free attention.
He will keep telling you what you must like, what you must dislike and what are you allowed to think, plus he will keep telling Hasbro that the fandom adores everything they do because he said so and his word totally carries the entire fandom's weight.

Anything new to add, captain obvious? <3

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be allowed to call out bullshit in regards to where the show is going. We're still fans of it.

I'm not saying "be an autistic idiot and complain," I'm saying "complain, but at least do it fucking right."

Sorry not all of us are determined to throw hissy fits every time Hasbro does anything, Murrison. I'm sure your Celestia tulpa will keep you company while the rest of us have fun.

    6. Seth can't speak for the fandom because the fandom is so splintered between so many differents sites, but if we ever would have a single spokesman for all of us, the truth is that it probably would be Seth. I'm not saying it's necessarily a good thing, but honestly speaking, who else would there be? Capper? Final Draft? Mando?

I'm genuinely asking. As magnificently retarded as the idea is, if there was a "leader" for the fandom, who would it be?
