Yelling at Cats vs. Mandopony: Crackers with Beef by

ha ha critic i stoel ur vector what u gon do bout it faget?
Yes, many a great musical artist has had a feud in one form or another.  And apparently, Mandopony and Yelling at Cats are no different.

You know, except for the "great musical artist part."

The feud was apparently started around a year ago in the comments section of one of Mando's videos.  "Oh, wait, this started off with YouTube comments? What did Cats do, call Mando gay or something?"
...Actually, surprisingly civilized for YouTube comments. Cats claims that he was providing constructive criticism of Mando's simplistic lyrics, with Mando defending his lyrical style. So really, nothing much to see here...
...Until Mando posted this, proceeding to block Cats.

Nothing really happened for about a year, with the issue being brought back up by Cats' latest track, "You Know What You Did." Cats claims that the track was supposed to drop much closer to the time of the YouTube comments, but somehow got delayed by a year.  But hey, long delays are usually for the best as they usually leave us with the best possible end product, right?
r-right?
Now, as I'm sure many of us have noticed, Mando has really chilled out recently. Surely he has learned from his past mistakes and decided it would be best to just ignore the song and not give it any additional attention, right?
And here... we... go!
And, as is generally true with subtweets, it wasn't long until Cats was made aware of the Tweet's existence.
Okay, so the conflict has escalated. No need to panic, though, it's probably just a publicity stunt or something.

So, there you have it. A minor feud on Twitter that has caused us all some fine hiatus entertainment the last few days. Oh, before we go home I should probably put Cats' diss in here somewhere so you guys can actually see it...
Horse News has officially moved the Drama Index up to DEFCON 1
Yep. Mando DMCA'd the track on the grounds that it sampled one of his songs. Because, you know, if subtweeting about something you don't like doesn't work, you should totally try to get said thing removed because that totally won't draw any more attention to it or create any more unnecessary drama.

Later in the day, Mando responded to a Tumblr post made by Yelling at Cats, who then responded to Mando's response. But as much as I'd like to take up a bunch of space on this page by including a really big screenshot of these posts, I'll just give you guys the link instead.

And here's the song:

video

But I digress, these kids are actin' fools. Throwing words at one another like this shit's high school. But this shit don't matter, because despite their horse fame, we all know I'm the greatest in the pony rap game. Man I'm so underground, I haven't even made a song, but the reach of my words keeps expanding like my dong. While these two got the Childish, I bring the flow like Gambino, hot like Reno, making stacks like Walter White post-chemo.

But that's just me.

Special thanks to Critic for adding some shit

  3. The only way this argument makes any sense is if Yelling at Cats was molested by Mando or something.

Wait, did Mandopony touch YaC inappropriately?

Otherwise, Cats comes off as an opinionated hater.

Whatever. I like the song. Fuck both of 'em.

    1. I know. It's like Mando sunk about as low as Hasjew with a DCMA claim. I know that what YAC did is immature to the point that he comes off like an asshole who needs to be taken down a peg, but Mando just proved what a fucking commie pussy he is for doing this bullshit. Mando forgot about what he was originally a part of, but since he's dating Sisby, a woman who works for The Man(Hasjew), he forgot what the terms "parody" "fair use" and "The First Amendment" were all about.

    2. "he forgot what the terms "parody" "fair use" and "The First Amendment" were all about."

None of those principles apply in this circumstance. Mando wasn't being parodied; the use of his sample doesn't qualify as fair use, and the first amendment only applies to government censorship.

    3. ^^^ What this guy said. I don't particularly like mando, but in this case, yac is the one being an asshole, and I'm not going to jump down mando's throat for pulling the video. I would have done the same thing honestly.

  9. I'm not taking back what I said. Cats is a tremendous faggot for actually making a goddamn diss track about a fucking brony musician. But I will amend my previous comment by adding that Mando is a faggot as well, both for technically being the one who started this, and for this DMCA shit. Legally, yes, he was well within his rights to take down YaC's video. But just because you can doesn't mean you should, and that's still almost as much a dick move as what Cats did, even if not as autistic.

I don't get it. Mando could have come out of this smelling like roses if he'd just left it at the tweet and then shut up. Why the hell did he feel the need to do this? He couldn't have imagined this ending any other way than to make him look like a faggot as well. There's no way anyone can be that stupid.

  13. TBH while mando's old post was uncalled for I feel like mando did the right thing here and just literally backed the fuck out of this.

It makes no sense to bring up a 1 year old issue and especially not as part of an musicians come back.
Also mando was indeed feeling a bit bad about his past actions just like anon said.. he could have just hit up mando about the issue if it was still bothering him and he would have taken it more like a fair sport I'm very sure.

    2. "I feel like mando did the right thing here and just literally backed the fuck out of this."

Did he though? I can't help but feel that the DMCA takedown is just a way for Mando to say "fuck you" while still being able to feign some kind of moral high ground. That and other vaguely passive aggressive behavior (or not-so-vaguely passive aggressive, like that tweet up there) kind of give me the vibe that he's only being as nice as he has to be for shit to not stick to him.

    4. That's why I just called him a pussy straight to his face. He hides behind claims and a nice smile and has the audacity to say I'm handling this like a child when he DMCAs our track because Gun and myself sampled Shadowbolts pt3. Like are you serious?

It is hypocritical to me because this dude claims he's all for expression and artistic creativity, yet he has no problem to DMCA a track not only on YouTube (which by the way is using his sample in Fair Use, making no profit whatsoever) but he also has the nerve to tkae it down from Bandcamp TWICE, and even SOUNDCLOUD. SOUNDCLOUD.

So yeah fuck that guy, I'm glad I got this reaction out of him. He's weak as fuck and I'm going to abuse it.

      Delete
    5. Honestly, I think that from start to now mando has been in the wrong. The main reason people back him up is because they're fans. He started shit when it was clear as hell that cats was trying to help. Then he continued it by making a big deal out of the song being sampled from his music even though he has done basically the same thing before with mlp. He also acted as though he was above all of this as he continued to complain and DMCA songs because he didn't like it. Apparently, he has a thing against people saying bad things about him which is understandable except he seems to have forgotten that that you can't control what people. Because this is what he is trying to do.

  14. This entire thing is funny as fuck. These two are both complete idiots, but when it comes down to it, honestly it seems to me like YaC is the bigger faggot of the two at this point. He went so far as to waste who knows how much time making a song about Mando, talking about his lyrical superiority when he does nothing but spew age old shit at him that no one cares about anymore in his 'song'.

  18. Can't say much about Cats, but Mando is a weird guy. It's like he believes that everything he says and does exists in a bubble, completely independent of everything else. At least, that would explain why he always pretends to not give a fuck about stuff, even though he said stuff that make clear that he does care. And while he seems quite mature sometimes, he pulls childish shit like this at other times, sometimes at the same time. It's like he is a manchild that occasionally has bursts of intelligence.

Not that Cats seems that much better. Digging up an one-year-old issue just to trash-talk Mandopony? That's just retarded.

But I love how people are defending Mando's abuse of DMCA takedowns. Guys, the point of these are protection of intellectual property (if that's justified is another discussion), not to be a toddler who can't stand it when people say mean things about you.

I gave him the proper credit for the track, and I wasn't making any money off of it. Fair Use. And I'm the bad guy? Right. I get the fact that dissing him a year after the conflict was said and done, but the only reason it wasn't released sooner was because of Gun being lazy. :V
