New Developement: Everfree Network Suspected of Using Pirated Adobe Software by

In the middle of the night, Horse News members discovered a link to an "Index of /assets/" possibly used by Everfree Network. One section of downloads is listed as "Tools/," which house download links to different Adobe Systems software.
Listed links are to:
Adobe After Effects CS5.5.exe,
Adobe Clean Install & Error Toolkit V4.exe,
Adobe. Photoshop CS5.1 Extended Edition.exe,
AdobePremierePro5.5.exe.

One Horse News member has downloaded the links to the suspected Adobe Systems software, and it has been confirmed to be from The Pirate Bay as a cracked version.

Horse News advises all of out readers to report Everfree Network of using pirated Adobe Systems software to Adobe Systems Incorporated using this report form: http://www.adobe.com/antipiracy/report-form.html, along with this guideline: http://puu.sh/aP3eL/3f90bed0b0.png

The Most #Professional™ organization in the fandom can now call itself the Most #Charitible™, too. Everfree Networks announces a free software program called Everfree Downloads.

Everfree Network, known for their assistance with the amazing Michael Morones Charity Fundraiser and for providing inspiration for our very own Capper General Memorial Pasta Fund, continues it’s streak of charitable actions by giving away FREE copies of Adobe® Creative Suite software to the needy. Among the selection of software up for grabs includes Premiere Pro CS5, After Effects CS5, and Photoshop CS5, each of these valued at over $500 each! As a special treat, the software is not only available for free, but is also pre-activated, making this more convenient for the users partaking in their service. This service is invaluable to those who are in a dire need for this software to produce content, but are too unintelligent to figure out how to torrent three-generation-old applications from The Pirate Bay or too poor to pay for the software because they work a lamp-repairing job. However, we suspect this will be a limited-time offer, and we encourage you to take advantage of the free downloads now (not to overload their servers with almost 4GB combined of traffic load or anything) , even if you already have the software.

Everfree is now offering (Ever)Free Downloads! Haha, get it? Its a pun!

We’re not sure who is responsible for this incredibly charitable act; however, we suspect it may have been a move by Everfree’s Site Director and now-budding Philanthropist, Nash. We applaud Nash for his unsecured, publically available work, as not only is this service invaluable for those in need of software, but it is also a gift that keeps on giving for us at Horse News because we have things to write about now. We hope Nash stays in bed as long as he wants to tonight; he deserves sleeping in for all his hard work :)

Oh, what’s this? An Anti-Piracy Report Form for Adobe? Make sure to tick the “25-50 Employees” radio button! Then report this shit harder than Wwwarea reports us to Google!

lol cappa u mad

    4. So you're taking a cheap shot at EQN to what wipe out your competition? These guys haven't been relevant in literally years and you go and do this and it's so blatant you're doing out of vitriol because Horse News would be the last outlet to give a fuck about piracy or professionalism, the site uses external services to host images and is built on blogger FFS.

      How exactly is this relevant?

  2. A post about EFN being cheap that doesn't involve Final Draft being a shekel-grubbing hebe?

I don't know whether to be disappointed or impressed.

  9. No matter how much you hate EFN, reporting piracy and supporting the internet police is worse. Priorities, nigga. Piracy is the flowing lifeblood of the entire fandom, retarded parts or otherwise.

    3. Nobody here is really siding with internet police or believing in their bullshit. We're just using anti-piracy reports for the same reason than anybody ever reports any form of copyright infringement: To fuck somebody we don't like.

  12. While I'm aware of the nature of EFN (being a kind of fan-based news site) and also are very critical of the whole anti-software-piracy conduct, in this case reporting them is merely an act of helping them get real. The fact that they put that software on a web server (accidentally public or not) shows that they don't have the right mindset.
Once you cross a certain line (usually into commercial, public, professional), not paying for the software you use is kind of a dick move (in case of making some form of profit) or just very unskillful (in case of non-profit organisations). And an organisation that clearly aspires to have a big social relevance and gain acclaim and (from what I've heard 'in other news') seems to give this higher priority than the brony spirit kinda deserves appropriate feedback based on the choices they make.
Had this mishap with the public access not happened, it would have been fine I guess. We can just accept the fact that it did as a kind of fateful/karmic event that served a purpose.

  13. Totally reporting them... After a few downloads that is.

  14. >lauded as an anti-establishment news site
    >reports to the establishment because of lingering butt hurt

That's it, I'm off this dumb ride. Unless EFN representatives raped your cat, there's just no justifying calling the Internet police. For shame.

    1. It's an "anti establishment" site, sure, but more importantly its a "anti EFN" site.
If it has the ability to end EFN, HN will support it.

    2. And this is a bad thing......HOW? Especially considering how many elitist assholes who show disdain and hatred for those who don't kiss their ass, EFN deserves the hatred and ire that HN gives them. Final Draft has pulled who knows how much drama with his bullshit, OsakaJack will blacklist anybody who disagrees with him, even segments that used to be on EFN ditched them to be broadcast elsewhere, and are doing much better for themselves. There is a forgetfulness that comes with madness, but the people behind Horse News are far from mad. Think about it, assholes.
